Case study · Cynexlink
From page nine to page one of Google in six months
Cynexlink provides cybersecurity, cloud and managed IT services in Orange County, California. Its website was not ranking for the services it sells. Over six months we rebuilt its search strategy, content plan and social media around the searches its buyers make. Its average Google position improved from 90 to 6, and website visitors grew from 4,000 to 24,000.

The challenge
Cynexlink has the expertise and service range of an established cybersecurity and managed IT provider. Its website did not show that in search. Across the searches it appeared for, its average Google position was 90, the bottom of page nine.
Buyers comparing managed IT and cybersecurity providers in Orange County rarely look past the first page, so the site was missing the people most likely to become clients.
What we did
Search demand mapping
We mapped the searches around Cynexlink's highest-value services: by service ("managed cybersecurity services"), by location ("cybersecurity services laguna hills") and by problem. Each search was assigned to the page that should rank for it.
Priority pages
We aligned the priority pages with the intent behind those searches, with clearer messaging and more specific descriptions of each service.
Content plan
A publishing plan built on three themes: security intelligence (threats, incidents and practical guidance), buyer education (services explained in plain business language) and local relevance (Irvine, Orange County and California).
Social media campaign
A social campaign and publishing calendar with one consistent voice, used to give each article reach beyond search.
